第17届国际电磁流变会议（ERMR2019）于2019年12月16日-20日在澳大利亚伍伦贡召开，这也是ERMR会议首次来到南半球。来自世界各地的160余名学术同行齐聚于此，共襄盛会。会议主题涵盖了铁磁流体、磁流变液、电流变液、磁流变弹性体和其它新型智能材料的制备、物理性质、力学行为、工程应用，以及新的实验方法、器件的建模仿真控制理论。本次会议由澳大利亚伍伦贡大学主办，龚兴龙教授为组委会成员。宣守虎教授、王宇副教授、裴雷、曹赛赛、丁丽、徐佳琦、胡涛、张帅帅、白林凤、桑敏参加了会议，张静怡制作的墙报参与了展示。
大会开幕式由会议主席李卫华教授主持，龚兴龙教授主持了第一天的特邀报告环节，并于第二天作了题为“Recent Advances on a Kind of Passive Rheological Material–Shear Stiffing Composites”的大会特邀报告。宣守虎教授作了题为“The Investigation of Magnetic-mechanic-conductive Coupling Behaviour in Novel Magnetorheological Materials”的邀请报告并主持了一个邀请报告环节。
裴雷作了“Experiments and Simulations on the Magnetorheological Fluid Based on Fe3O4 Hollow Spheres and Chains”口头报告，并获得了Student Presentation Competition二等奖；曹赛赛作了“The CNT/STF/Kevlar Composite with Excellent Ballistic Performance”口头报告；丁丽作了“Interlocking-based Hair-like Magnetization-induced Pillar Forests for Strain and Magnetic Field Sensor”口头报告；徐佳琦作了“A Flexible and Self-Powered Magnetism/Pressure Dual-Mode Sensor Based on Magnetorheological Plastomer”口头报告；胡涛作了“Stretchable and Magneto-Sensitive Strain Sensor Based on Magnetorheological Elastomer Enhanced by Silver Nanowire-Polyurethane Sponge”口头报告；张帅帅作了“The Application of Conductive Shear Thickening Gel towards Smart Body Armor with Body Motion Monitoring Property”口头报告；白林凤做作了“A High Performance Magnetorheological Fluid Based on Carbon Modified Fe3O4 Nanospheres”口头报告；桑敏作了“Fabrication of a Piezoelectric Polyvinylidene Fluoride/carbonyl Iron (PVDF/CI) Magnetic Composite Film towards the Magnetic Field and Deformation Biosensor”口头报告。张静怡制作的墙报“Off-axis Anisotropic Magnetorheological Elastomers for Remotely Triggered Shape Transition”获得了最佳墙报一等奖。
会议期间还召开了组委会会议，龚兴龙教授参加了会议。会议讨论了本次会议的若干细节，并重点讨论了下届会议的举办单位，最后决定下届会议由重庆大学余淼教授和中国科技大学龚兴龙教授作为会议主席共同筹办下届会议，会议将于2021年在重庆召开。
